Team Contributions

Ashley Margetts: Defining voltage & controls reqs and making it into an electrical diagram/ simplified schematic, user workflow diagram, user storyboard

Ashley Su: Sketched/brainstormed mechanism ideas, CAD for bottle and lid clamping mechanism, preliminary clamping force calculations, created the

Colin Weaver: Hand Calcs, led second round of testing, determined the need for fans with Faith

Darrell Brown: Researched which heater to purchase. Researched what to use for testing. Tried to model the heat transfer problem both by hand and computationally (unsuccessfully), presentation slides, presentation preparation

Faith Bulan: Creating testing procedure to test cooling, executed cooling tests, tested impact of nozzle diameter on wind speed, determined the need for fans with Colin, did two rounds of water bottle cooling tests to determine cooling time and need for fan-driven cooling system (it is not needed), drafted script points, helped create slides

Grace Armstrong: Helped on user workflow diagram, researched material selections and mechanisms for locking/latching, helped with drying testing in lab

Helen Sun: Conducted research on dishwasher detergent (how they work and what types are the best), researched further on bacteria in water and how to establish a cleaning testing procedure, created slides for assembly review

Henry Asa: Ideated and designed a few iterations of the water bottle spray nozzle, building a CAD model that can be used to implement and iterate through different permutations of these designs testing different variables, worked with the Facilities team to figure out inlet water pipe diameters that might constrain the Spray Nozzle design (we’re going with ⅜ in)

Kanay Okolo: Calculated power requirements, researched and purchased water heater, purchased team materials, industrial design and presentation graphics

Malia Smith: Sketched/brainstormed mechanism ideas, integrated the subsystem assembly into the top level assembly, drafted script points, created CAD animations and visuals, helped create slides

Morgan Everett: Reverse engineered CAD for fire sprinkler model, design and CAD for spinning nozzle design

Sebastien Loko: Outlining required electronics, calculating needed voltages and currents, designing circuit components for these needs, making circuit diagram schematic, meeting with David head of plumbing, talked with Home Depot plumbing guy

Shreya Agarwal: Water filler “teardown”, learning about plumbing in general (sizes, threads, pipe types, etc.), designed water input & drainage system, purchased required parts (all of this with Malia and Tyler), meeting with David Hingston (plumbing), talked with Home Depot plumbing guy, drafted script points, helped create slides

Thomas Brooks: Research effect of temperature on cleaning quality and effectiveness of pre-rinsing, helped with cooling testing for different types of bottles

Tyler Godfrey: Trip to Home Depot with Sebastien and Shreya (learned that we didn’t know a lot), helped with design of water supply system and the drainage system, CAD of plumbing system, helped to purchase supplies, learned about plumbing (fittings), meeting with David Hingston, talked with Home Depot plumbing guy

Valeria Gutierrez: CAD of housing assembly, help on user workflow diagram, research on housing materials as well as door latching & locking mechanisms, helped compile CAD files, created simplified user workflow diagram for presentation, drafted script points, created CAD animations and visuals, helped create slides
